Here Comes the Sun...Princess

As the debut of the Sun Princess in North America approaches, Princess Cruises has announced exciting updates aimed at enhancing the onboard dining experience. Effective October 14, 2024, several dining venues are set to undergo name changes and relocations to improve both ambiance and functionality.

Name Changes for Dining Spaces


Several existing restaurants will be rebranded to reflect their updated offerings:


*Horizons Dining Room (Deck 6 aft) has been renamed **Soleil Dining Room**

*Horizons Dining Room (Deck 7 aft) is now the **Eclipse Dining Room**

AND

**Park19** will now be known as **SkyDeck Sports Court & Track**


New Dining Locations on Sun Princess


In addition to the name changes, several dining establishments will be relocated to enhance the guest experience:


**Americana Diner**:

   - Offering casual, all-day dining, the Americana Diner will now be located on Deck 9 aft, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner favorites in a relaxed setting.


**Sanctuary Restaurant**:

- Located on Deck 8 aft in the previous Americana Diner space, this exclusive dining venue will cater to guests in the Sanctuary Collection. It features a custom chef’s menu, dedicated waitstaff, and stunning ocean views.


**The Butcher’s Block by Dario**:

- Now on Deck 7 forward, this meat-centric restaurant in collaboration with butcher Dario Cecchini will replace the Crown Grill. It aims to provide a communal dining experience focused on high-quality cuts of meat.


**Crown Grill**:

- This upscale eatery will relocate to Deck 7 aft, previously the Reserve Collection Restaurant. It will continue to offer a premium selection of beef, chops, and seafood within an elegant atmosphere.


**The Catch by Rudi**:

   - Moving to Deck 7 next to the Piazza, this innovative seafood restaurant from Chef Rudi Sodamin will take over the Signature Restaurant space. It will offer creative takes on classic seafood dishes, showcasing international flavors and artistic presentations.




Enhancing the Guest Experience


Sami Kohen, Vice President of Food & Beverage for Princess Cruises, emphasized the importance of these changes, stating, “With the relocation and transformation of these popular specialty restaurants, we’re not only enhancing the ambiance but also optimizing the overall dining experience for our guests.” Kohen noted that the new locations would allow for increased capacity while creating a more intimate, immersive culinary environment.


The Sanctuary Collection

Launching on October 14, The Sanctuary Collection aims to elevate the luxury cruising experience. Located on the ship's top deck, it will provide private dining at the Sanctuary Restaurant and access to tranquil spaces for relaxation. Guests staying in 80 luxurious suites, 123 Mini Suites, and 12 Premium Deluxe Balcony staterooms will benefit from premium amenities and all-inclusive options via the Princess Premier bundle.

The Sun Princess, weighing 177,882 tons and carrying up to 4,300 guests, represents the next generation of Princess Cruises. Set to debut in early 2024, the ship will transition from Mediterranean waters to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, for its inaugural Caribbean season, featuring 30 restaurants and bars along with partnerships with renowned chefs, ensuring a unique culinary experience for all guests.
